about

Ripped from Vinyl - Back in the 70's, Beryl's Garden and Boston Collective The Magenta Conquistadors teamed up to score the two part season finale of the popular detective show, 'Obscure Jungle'. Sadly, the finale was never released due to it's graphic content and the project was shelved. The Conquistadors disbanded after subsequent money problems following the album, and Beryl decided to move to the UK to grow as a tree in Dorset for 30 years. After all this time, the OST entitled 'Downtown' has been unearthed following the closure of the production company in charge of Obscure Jungle. We hope you enjoy this lost masterpiece....

Obscure Jungle: The Slums - Skip Doonigan has recieved multiple death threats from inside the Bureau, and has decided to take action into his own hands. Meanwhile, his partner Earn has gone looking for infamous drug lord Cassius Visconza, and discovers something shocking about his past. '

(Ripped from TV Guide, 13th Decemeber 1977)

"The network clearly hated what the show was doing. No other detective show was doing what we were doing at the time. The fact that the finale still remains unaired to this day is a travesty, especially seeing as how some of the most expensive and memorable scenes took place in Vacation. The director (Stanley Memorandum) actually told me and John that the acid monkey scene cost $1 Million to produce, and it was only on screen for less than five seconds!"

(Ripped from Interview with Max Ferocious (Skip) and John Boothy (Earn) on the cancellation of Obscure Jungle (2004))
